How is surrogacy done to deliver a successful pregnancy?

Surrogacy is step-wise treatment plan executed as follows:

  • A healthy surrogate is shortlisted after conducting a couple of medical screenings to detect genetic abnormalities or any major medical illness that could harm your baby.
  • Consent between the intended parents and surrogate.
  • Consent between the intended parents and surrogate.
  • The surrogate is administered with necessary medicines to stop her menstrual cycle and ultimately induce an environment of receptive uterine lining.

  • The resulting embryos (not more than 2 or 3 embryos) are implanted into the surrogate’s womb.
  • An embryo transfer procedure is done where the embryos are implanted in the surrogate mother’s womb (uterus).
  • Once the embryo is implanted successfully, a blood test is done to confirm whether the surrogate is pregnant or not.
  • If the blood test results are positive then there is a confirmed pregnancy and the surrogate prepares for a successful delivery.
